Two brothers found dead in a well in Theni district; police suspect murder

Two brothers, aged 10 and 11, were found dead with external injuries in a well inside a private farm at Bodinayakkanur in Theni district on Saturday.Following a complaint, the police registered a case. Superintendent of Police K.

S. Praveen Gautham, Deputy Superintendent of Police Murugan and other officials inspected the scene.The police said Chinnathambi, son of Subbiah, was living with his family on Ambedkar Street.

His two sons had failed to return home from school on Friday, following which the family lodged a complaint. The police registered a missing case and launched a search.Under such circumstances, the bodies of the two children were later found in a well inside a coconut farm.

The police recovered the bodies and sent them to the Government Hospital for post-mortem.A senior officer said that though the exact motive was yet to be established, they were examining a few leads. When the post-mortem report was released, we might get some definite clues, he added.
