While the Philadelphia 76ers continue to move forward in the offseason under the guidance of President of Basketball Operations Mike Gansey and a new front office, they will be looking to find ways to deliver a healthy Joel Embiid to the postseason. Even with the big addition of Jaylen Brown, the Sixers will continue to lean heavily on Embiid.Gansey understands that as he made other moves to improve the team's depth.

He signed 7-footer Ariel Hukporti as well as Dean Wade in the offseason. In some instances, Wade, a natural power forward, can slide over to the 5 and give the Sixers some minutes there. Hukporti and Wade will join Adem Bona on the depth chart at center.

While speaking with Amazon Prime Video during Philadelphia's July 9 summer league win over the Detroit Pistons, Gansey gave his thoughts on the team's depth behind the big fella:Yeah, well, you know we got Ariel Hukporti from New York, and then Adem Bona back, he had some really good moments, and he's hopefully ready for another step. Then Dean Wade, Dom (Dominick) Barlow, these guys could slide over to the five a little bit so we could play a little smaller...Joel is in a good space, he's finally healthy going into the off-season, and he's excited about the summer, and he's getting to work here shortly, and he expects to have a good year, as we all do.

To Gansey's point, Embiid was optimistic following the elimination loss to the New York Knicks back in May. He said the knee felt strong and is heading into the offseason healthy. As Philadelphia looks to continue to move forward, a lot hinges on the 2023 MVP winner.

The Sixers have to make sure he is healthy and has good depth behind him. This article originally appeared on Sixers Wire: Mike Gansey discusses moves for depth behind Sixers star Joel Embiid
