In the fourth round though, home hope Arthur Fery edged him in five sets, with the Brit winning the match 7-5, 3-6, 4-6, 6-4, 7-6(7). Later, his girlfriend Eiza Gonzalez, the renowned Mexican actress and singer, took to her Instagram Stories and shared two posts acknowledging the Bulgarian's efforts and laying bare her love for him.

Reflecting on the hardships he has had to overcome since suffering the pectoral muscle injury at last year's Championships, the Bulgarian said: Ad "I honestly don't have much to say other than I'm so happy to be back and just play tennis in front of you guys. That's it.
For me, I'm very emotional. I'm overwhelmed a little bit. You know the past year has been so difficult and again it's not about winning or losing to get it's just about conquering myself and playing tennis just like that today, regardless of the outcome."
Only time will tell where Grigor Dimitrov plays next after his Wimbledon exit. Meanwhile, for Arthur Fery, the 23-year-old Brit who defeated the Bulgarian, a quarterfinal clash with No. 9 seed Flavio Cobolli awaits.
