× WWE has filed a new trademark that is sure to get many fans talking, especially since it's associated with one of its most iconic superstars, Randy Orton. Ad Randy Orton's RKO has been one of the most devastating moves the wrestling business has ever seen, almost comparable to the Stone Cold Stunner but unique in its suddenness and unpredictability of its execution. As reported by Wrestletalk, WWE recently filed a trademark for RKO with the United States Patent & Trademark Office.
It was filed with the following description: "Wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network", the description reads. Ad Trending This, of course, isn't the first trademark the company has filed for the RKO, as there have been multiple filings under different descriptions. So although this may be a routine filing and nothing major, it shifts the focus towards the Apex Predator, who has been away from WWE TV since his loss to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 42 for the WWE Championship.
Randy Orton might return to WWE at any time Just like his RKO move is unpredictable, Randy's return to the ring is imminent without any updates. Orton has been mostly quiet during the hiatus and even played off reports of being out due to injury, a scare that had fans worried when Orton was heading into his WrestleMania 42 clash against Cody Rhodes. Ad Without a set timeline, one could assume that Orton would be back sooner rather than later, but if he does, logically, his first order of business would be to go after Cody Rhodes, since he landed his lethal punt kick on the American Nightmare before taking time off.
However, the title picture has changed drastically since WrestleMania 42, with Rhodes no longer champion and CM Punk returning to defeat Sami Zayn for the title on the latest episode of RAW. Ad Sami Zayn and Gunther are also in the mix for the top title, with Sami sure to come back for it after a mere 9-day title reign and Gunther, who is currently blaming everyone but himself for his inability to win the gold, even attacking Cody Rhodes on RAW and costing him a title opportunity in the latest episode. With such a crowded card, bringing Randy Orton into the mix at this point may prove to be too much.
But when he does, the Apex Predator is sure to be gunning for his 15th WWE World Title, something that eluded him at the Show of Shows earlier this year. × Was this article helpful?
