vivo has launched the X Fold6, its latest foldable flagship, introducing what the company calls the "second evolution" of foldable smartphones — moving beyond simply enlarging the display to fundamentally rethinking how AI and multi-tasking interact on foldable form factors. A central innovation is OriginOS 6 Fold, the industry's first operating system purpose-built for foldable displays and AI task flows. While conventional foldable phones have struggled with internal screen utilization rates below 30% — primarily used for video playback and gaming — vivo's new approach enables "serial" mode with up to five windows in a one-primary-four-secondary layout, and "parallel" mode supporting four simultaneously active applications displayed side by side.
