Three persons, including the driver of a car, were killed after the vehicle collided with a truck on GST Road near Madurantakam on Friday (July 24, 2026). The Chengalpattu district police said the car, with three persons, was proceeding from Tiruchi towards Chennai on GST Road on Friday. As the car approached Janakipuram near Madurantakam, the driver, Ilanchezian, attempted to overtake a truck in front of him.
However, he lost control of the wheel and crashed into the back of the truck.In the accident, Gopu (46) and his son Dinesh (15), residents of Shanmugapuram in Puducherry, were killed on the spot. The driver, Ilanchezhian, suffered serious injuries and was rushed to the Chengalpattu Government Hospital.
However, he died during treatment.The Maduranthakam police have registered a case and further investigation is under way. The bodies have been placed at the hospital for post-mortem examination.
