SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The Drag Boat Series Showdown in San Angelo has kicked off another great weekend. The fastest show on the water returns to Lake Nasworthy with speeds of up to 250mph.The SDBA was recently purchased by the IHRA and this Summer will be one to remember with three top fuelers making their return to Spring Creek Marina amongst dozens of other drivers.
Top Fuel Hydro will be back on the water with three representatives including Mike Robbins, Marty Logan, and Cole Allen. 13 drag boat racing classifications in total will be in action this weekend. Friday night is the shine and show, where kids and families can meet drivers, get up close to the boats and some times even have a seat inside the cockpit to get closer to the action.
This fantastic event highlighted by the drivers, has plenty of food, fun and atmosphere to bring you back the next 48 hours for the races.Saturday morning gates open at 8 a.m.
where the showdown begins. During Saturday’s races drivers will make their runs over the next few hours to qualify for Sunday’s finals. The prize pool this year is a whopping $70,000 so every pass matters.
