Two of the four Airport Authority of India (AAI) Tier-II airports in Karnataka have seen a drop in the customer satisfaction rankings for the first six months of 2026.According to the AAI’s Customer Satisfaction Index of Airports for Round-I 2026 vis-a-vis Round-II 2025, in which 60 of the 63 AAI-run airports across the country were surveyed, the Hubbali airport was ranked sixth.In the previous ranking, the Hubbali airport was ranked fourth.
The Hubballi airport, which secured a score of 4.96 in the previous survey, has secured a score of 4.93 in the latest survey.
The Belagavi airport, which was ranked 11th in the previous survey, has been ranked ninth in the latest survey. The airport, which secured 4.89 points in the previous survey, retains the same points in the latest survey.
The Kalaburgi airport, which did not figure in the previous rankings as the survey could not be conducted due to non-availability of scheduled flights, has been ranked 22nd in the latest survey with 4.72 points.Flight services were restored at the Kalaburgi airport on June 10 after Star Air restarted flights between Kalaburagi and Bengaluru.
The Kalaburgi airport has gone off the aviation map following the abrupt suspension of services by Star Airlines to and from Kalaburagi from October 15, 2025.The Mysuru airport saw the biggest drop in the rankings in the latest survey as it was ranked 34th among the 35 operational airports. The airport, which secured a score of 4.
81 in the previous survey, has secured a score of 4.18 in the latest survey. In the previous survey the airport was ranked 15th.
The survey takes into account 33 parameters, including ground transportation to/from airport, parking facilities, availability of baggage carts trolleys, waiting time in check-in queue/line, efficiency of check-in staff, courtesy and helpfulness of check-in staff, thoroughness of security inspection, value for money of restaurant/eating facilities, comfort of waiting/gate areas, internet access/Wi-Fi, among others. In addition, five questions related to hygiene were also part of the survey.Khajuraho, Aurangabad and Madurai airports bagged the first three spots in the survey.
