That's the kind of comment you usually hear as a joke, but in this case, with Sanders' following and passion about music, he could actually build a following.Sanders just released a new song, called "Turn Back," on Spotify and Apple Music. The track starts out with a delicate piano passage before Sanders breaks in with a slick, smooth, soothing voice.
He has the kind of delivery that could really fit alongside R&B and rap songs on the radio. He also says that for all the people who want to see him fail, "It ain't gonna happen."He may not be the next Jay-Z or Drake, but Sanders sounds darn good on this track.
It's already getting added to Spotify playlists, too. It's worth noting that "Turn Back" marks the follow-up to his 2024 single, "Perfect Timing."Shedeur Sanders gearing up for a return to the Cleveland Browns in training campThe new track comes right before Sanders starts his competition with veteran quarterback Deshaun Watson for the Browns' starting position when they hit training camp later this month.
Sanders has pushed back on the idea of this being a quarterback competition, though."We look at coming to practice every day, being the best player we can be as an individual and as a good teammate," he told the press in June. "Y'all look at it as like a competition.
It's not really (anything) I'm just focused on."He added: "I'm focused on developing as a player, like doing everything, getting as comfortable as I can in the offense and the scheme and playing with that confidence I had."So, even if it's not a competition, one guy is going to get the start this season.
Either way, Sanders already has Watson beat on the music front.More NFL news: Jets, Aaron Glenn urged to make Buccaneers
