Senior Qld police officer charged with rape, indecent assault

A senior Queensland police officer charged with rape will face trial. The 32-year-old male senior constable was part of the Emergency Response and Coordination command, a centralised statewide service to respond to disasters. Police would not confirm details about where the officer lives or works.

In a statement this week, the Queensland Police Service confirmed the man had been charged with two counts of common assault, rape and indecent assault, all allegedly committed while he was off duty. Police did not say when the charges were brought against the man, or when the alleged incident occurred. The police service confirmed he had been suspended from the QPS and was expected to appear in Brisbane District Court in February 2027 to stand trial.
