Senior Communist leader Pamujula Dasaratha Ramayya dies in Nellore

Senior Communist leader Pamujula Dasaratha Ramayya (PDR) passed away while undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital in Nellore on Friday evening. Local leaders paid tributes to his mortal remains.Having served the Communist Party of India (CPI) in various capacities, PDR also held the position of Sarpanch of South Mopuru for a long time and served as Nellore Rural Mandal Parishad Praja Parishad (MPP) member.

He brought status to every office he held and stood as an inspiration to many.State Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy said, “I was deeply shocked by the news of the death of PDR, a renowned Communist leader, a champion of people’s movements, and State CPI leader from Nellore.”He lauded the unforgettable struggles of the Communist stalwart for the rights of the people and the welfare of workers, farmers, and the poor.

He said that PDR stood as an exemplary leader for many, characterised by his commitment, simple lifestyle, and dedication to public service.Expressing deep condolences to the family members, associates, and admirers of PDR, the Minister described his passing as an irreparable loss to people’s movements and prayed for his soul to rest in peace.Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy paid tributes to the CPI leader by placing a floral wreath on his mortal remains.

He said that PDR’s death was a great loss for the poor and downtrodden sections of society.Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy lauded the memorable services rendered by PDR in various capacities as a leader of the CPI. He noted that PDR stood at the forefront of public struggles for decades, deeply committed to the welfare of farmers, workers, and the destitute.

The MP described PDR, who lived a life defined by simplicity, dedication, and a devotion to public service, as an exemplary figure for today’s politicians and public servants. He conveyed his heartfelt condolences to PDR’s grieving family members and followers.
