After an offseason filled with questions about Kamara’s future and the Saints making moves that only emphasized the possibility of him being off the team, this is a positive conclusion.
One of the main reasons why Kamara’s future was even up in the air was his contract. With the Saints signing Travis Etienne in free agency, the team did not want Kamara to play on what was his current contract. Both sides wanted Kamara on the team; it was just a matter of the financial impact.
Which has now been worked out and thw details for Kamara’s contract have been revealed, per Ian Rapoport. The #Saints and RB Alvin Kamara agreed to terms on a deal that will pay him a base salary of $6M for the 2026 season with a chance to make $8.5M with incentives.

The original number of that contract was a two-year, $24.5 million deal that ended after the 2026 season.
A change to a base salary of $6 million is a significant drop for Kamara, but that just shows his commitment to remaining and retiring with the Saints. Kamara and Etienne will be teamed up giving defenses something to pay major attention to throughout the season, and it’s going to be exciting to see what this duo can do.
