Rings of Power got off to a rough start, but after a subtle shift, things are on the up and up. This Lord of the Rings spinoff series was divisive from the moment it was announced, and season 1 didn't do much to eliminate people's fears and frustrations. There's no doubt that the version of Middle-earth created by Prime Video is visually stunning (it better be, considering Rings of Power's budget), but with so many changes to J.R.R. Tolkien's canon, approval was bound to be low.
