The meetings with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang and Broadcom CEO Hock Tan came on the first stop of Lee's overseas tour to the Americas. Lee told Altman that South Korea is restructuring its industries around AI and welcomed OpenAI's growing interest and investment in the country.

He also asked OpenAI to take part in the government's three flagship AI megaprojects, describing them as a national undertaking. Meeting later with Huang, Lee thanked NVIDIA for helping ensure a stable supply of graphics processing units, or GPUs, saying the support has accelerated the country's AI preparations.

He reaffirmed the government's goal of making South Korea one of the world's leading AI nations and called for NVIDIA's continued cooperation. Huang said Lee's vision of building an AI-native nation has energized the country and described South Korea as entering a "golden age" of artificial intelligence. He also announced a new partnership with SK Group worth some 500 billion U.

S. dollars, while unveiling expanded cooperation with SK hynix and Samsung Electronics on advanced semiconductor technologies, as well as a major investment in Naver.
