Adams has an idea to revive the show following the spinoff Suits LA being canceled after just one season. In 2019, Suits ended its nine-season run on the USA Network, and four years later, the legal drama experienced renewed popularity when it became available to stream on Netflix. As a result, NBC ordered the short-lived Suits LA, which failed to earn the same kind of acclaim as its predecessor.
Now, Adams, who played Mike Ross on Suits, has pitched how the original show’s leading characters could come back together for a revival. Adams shared these thoughts on his Instagram Stories (via TV Insider). His vision for a Suits revival would see a lawsuit spearheaded by Mike and Meghan Markle’s Rachel Zane against an AI company pulling the curtain back on shady activity at Pearson Hardman from years earlier.
This would lead to the best Suits characters teaming up once again to save their reputations. In Adams’ words: Mike and Rachel are working on a class action suit against a giant AI company when suddenly the years of past indiscretions and illegal maneuvering at Pearson Hardman are threatened to be revealed. Harvey [Gabriel Macht] and Donna’s [Sarah Rafferty] life could be over before [it has] really started.
Jessica’s [Gina Torres] political career could be cut off at the knees. Louis [Rick Hoffman] could lose the very thing he has works so long for… the firm.
Once again, Mike’s wanting to do good has dragged this team back together with one chance to truly wipe the slate clean and buy them all a future that they can be proud of. Adams later suggested that this hypothetical Suits revival could include “some skinny tie jokes and some classic bike-riding montages,” as well as give Harvey Specter and Donna Paulsen a baby so that Mike can make fun of Harvey "while he watches him try to change a diaper.” Additionally, Adams mused that the revival could launch more Suits spinoffs, such as a Jessica Pearson-led Suits Chicago, a Harvey and Donna-led Suits Seattle, and a Louis Litt-led Suits NYC.
However, the actor then said that from what he understands, “the powers that be walked away after Suits LA.” Nevertheless, Adams feels that it’s “strange” not to reunite these six characters, adding that “it would be fun to watch the team try and do the right thing in a world determined to all the wrong things.” It’s unclear if Adams’ Suits revival idea would have room for later series regulars like Amanda Schull’s Katrina Bennett, Dulé Hill's Alex Williams, and Katherine Heigl's Samantha Wheeler.
For Suits’ first seven seasons, Mike, Harvey, Rachel, Donna, Louis, and Jessica comprised the show’s core cast. However, Torres departed Suits at the end of season 6 to lead the Pearson spinoff (which also only lasted one season), and was last seen making recurring appearances in season 7. Adams and Markle then departed Suits’ main cast at the end of season 7, though the former reprised Mike in a recurring capacity during season 9.
As such, it’s been almost 10 years since the original series’ cast was together onscreen. Suits LA season 1 ran on NBC from February to May 2025, and starred Stephen Amell as entertainment lawyer Ted Black. Macht reprised Harvey in three episodes of the spinoff, and Hoffman guest-starred as Louis in one episode.
