Nipah: surveillance steps withdrawn in Ramanattukara
Condition of the 43-year-old infected person, who is being treated at Kozhikode MCH is improving
The Health department has withdrawn all the surveillance steps in ward 5 of Ramanattukara municipality in Kozhikode district from where a Nipah case was reported in June.A release from the office of Health Minister K. Muraleedharan said on Wednesday (July 22, 2026) that no new cases had been reported from there in the past 42 days.
Meanwhile, the condition of the 43-year-old infected person, who is being treated at the Government Medical College Hospital (MCH), Kozhikode, is improving. His ventilator support has been taken off and he has tested negative for the virus thrice in recent weeks.
