Mets to activate Francisco Lindor, Let go of Zack Short NBCSports.com wrote (on 6/24): "Short loses his spot on New York’s active roster with superstar Francisco Lindor returning from the injured list. The 31-year-old went 1-for-8 at the dish across three games for the Mets after being claimed off waivers from the Tigers last week."

Zack Short recorded just 8 at-bats with the Mets over three games, and he struck out five times. His batting average this season is .159 across 44 at-bats between the Mets and Tigers.

Short has spent parts of six seasons in MLB with the Mets, Tigers, Braves, Houston Astros, and Boston Red Sox.His career OPS+ is 57, and he's hit just 15 home runs in 550 career at-bats. It's unclear what's next for Short, but a release could be in the future, or Short clears waivers and elects MLB free agency.
