MDMK MP meets PWD Minister; seeks intervention to lay inner roads in Kovilpatti GH using CSR funds

Appealing to the Tamil Nadu PWD Minister Adhav Arjun to intervene with the officials in Thoothukudi district and lay inner roads at the Kovilpatti Government Hospital, MDMK MP Durai Vaiko urged him to utilise the CSR funds and implement the work at the earliest.In a press release issued on Saturday (July 25), Mr Durai said that he had visited the Kovilpatti Government Hospital in June and found that certain infrastructural facilities such as roads were urgently required. Hence, he assured the public that he would get it executed.

In this connection, he met the PWD Minister in Chennai and submitted a memorandum, which stated that the Thoothukudi Collector had sent a request to the Tamilnad Mercantile Bank seeking funds from the TMB Foundation.As and when the PWD engineers furnish the estimate, the bank would be in a position to release funds for the project. “If done before monsoon, the people visiting the hospital would be much relieved,” he had stated.

The MP, during his visit in June, found that patients carried on stretchers and wheel-chairs had a tough time as the inner roads within the GH premises was in a bad shape. Persons with fractures and pregnant women had a harrowing experience..The officials in Thoothukudi district administration informed that they have sought the TMB to generously release funds through the CSR arm, which would be of immense help to the public, Mr Durai Vaiko said.
