newsinfo / Nation Nation Matibag: NBI to subpoena Phisgoc 2019 officials over SEA Games probe By: Mary Joy Salcedo - @inquirerdotnet INQUIRER.net / 03:02 PM July 17, 2026 Share: NBI Director Melvin Matibag INQUIRER / MARY JOY SALCEDO MANILA, Philippines — The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) will subpoena officials of the Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (Phisgoc) in connection with the bureau’s probe into the alleged funding irregularities of a sports complex built in New Clark City, Tarlac, which was used in the 2019 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, according to Director Melvin Matibag on Friday. In an interview, Matibag said among those that will be subpoenaed are: Phisgoc chair Ramon “Tats” Suzara Phisgoc Chief Financial Officer Dexter Estacio Phisgoc Corporate Secretary John Lester Buenconsejo READ: NBI may summon Dizon but only to shed light on SEA Games probe – Matibag Article continues after this advertisement “It’s strange that when we mentioned that we would investigate this, why did Senator [Alan Peter] Cayetano react when his name wasn’t even there,” Matibag said in Filipino.
