Residents of Kuppayur village, part of Sengurichi panchayat in Dindigul district, on Monday submitted a petition to the Dindigul Collector urging the authorities to repair a damaged road. The residents said in 2014, a tar road was laid connecting Sengurichi with Kuppayur, utilising funds of Sanarpatti Panchayat Union. However, the road was in a bad condition.
The residents were unable to use the road and even during emergencies, ambulances were unable to enter the village. Farmers were affected as they were unable to transport the produce to the market. While there was a demand from the residents to repair the road, a group of people objected to the same citing legal dispute.
The residents urged the authorities to ensure that the road was repaired. Published - June 15, 2026 10:26 pm IST Read Comments Copy link Email Facebook Twitter Telegram LinkedIn WhatsApp Reddit READ LATER SEE ALL Remove Related Topics Dindigul / civic infrastructure
