Kristil Krug Paramount EXCLUSIVE: Kristil Krug was murdered in 2023 after months of suspected stalking from a former ex-boyfriend. However, it turned out that it was her husband that had been threatening her and he was subsequently found guilty of first-degree murder, stalking, and criminal impersonation and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Krug’s story is now set to be the subject of a true-crime docuseries from Sony Pictures Television’s Maxine Productions.
The company, which is behind series including ID’s Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV and The Fall of Diddy, has secured exclusive access to Krug’s family for the docuseries, beating out over 30 production companies interested in their participation in telling her story. Watch on Deadline Krug, a 44-year-old chemical engineer and mother of three from Broomfield, Colorado, was discovered dead in her garage by a police officer in December 2023 after her husband Daniel Krug requested a welfare check.
However, it soon emerged that it was her husband who had been impersonating Krug’s ex-boyfriend, Jack Anthony Holland, and murdered her. In the aftermath of her murder, the family supported the passage of Kristil’s Law, an Oregon law that requires social media companies and other communications providers to respond much more quickly to search warrants in domestic violence and stalking investigations, helping law enforcement obtain critical digital evidence before violence escalates. The bill was passed by the Oregon Legislature in early 2026.
Krug’s case has previously been covered on shows including CBS’ 48 Hours, NBC’s Dateline and ABC’s 20/20. Analysis Of $22B Fox Corp Deal For Streamer; Street Unsure As Sides Claim Win-Win Spielberg Sci-Fi Pic Now Eyeing $44M U.S.
