Union Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy on Sunday launched a sharp attack on the Telangana government, accusing it of going to great lengths to protect the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) for its alleged interests in land and real estate transactions while ignoring the concerns of ordinary citizens. In a post on X, Mr.

Kishan Reddy alleged that HYDRAA (Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency) had become a symbol of ‘selective governance’ that acts swiftly against common people but remains silent when allegations involve institutions linked to the AIMIM.He cited the Fatima Owaisi Educational Campus, which has reportedly been found within the Full Tank Level (FTL) and buffer zone of Salkam Cheruvu, and questioned what he described as the Revanth Reddy’s government’s ‘reluctance’ to act on the issue.“Despite repeated observations by the Telangana High Court, questions over delays and inaction, and records being sought from multiple departments, including HYDRAA and the Education department, the Congress government has failed to respond with the same urgency it displays in cases involving ordinary citizens,” he said.

The Secunderabad MP further alleged that the Congress was treating the AIMIM as though it represented the entire Muslim community. “That is simply not true,” he said, claiming that HYDRAA’s actions had also affected poor Muslim families whose homes and livelihoods were demolished. However, when matters involving assets linked to the AIMIM arise, both parties appear to stand together, he alleged.

“What is being protected is not the Muslim community but the political interests of the AIMIM,” Mr. Reddy said, adding that the controversy surrounding the Fatima institutions had exposed what he termed the Congress government’s ‘vote-bank politics’ and the AIMIM’s ‘double standards’.The Union Minister alleged that the government’s priorities were evident.

“For the poor, there are bulldozers; for the Congress-Majlis political ecosystem, there is protection,” he said. Urging the State government to abandon what he called a ‘communal and vote-bank lens’ in governance, Mr. Kishan Reddy demanded uniform enforcement of laws and equal justice for all citizens.
