Kerala government reconstitutes prison advisory committees
The panels will be chaired by the Director General of Prisons; it will also include non-official members nominated by the government

The Kerala government has reconstituted the Prison Advisory Committees for various prisons across the State.The advisory committees will be chaired by the Director General of Prisons. The District Collectors, District and Sessions Judges, District Police Chiefs and District Probation Officers will serve as members, while the respective Prison Superintendents will function as Member Secretaries.
The committees will also include non-official members nominated by the government.For the Poojappura Central Prison, the government has appointed former Deputy Speaker Palode Ravi, former District Congress Committee (DCC) president Karakulam Krishnapillai and R. Valsalan as non-official members.
The Viyyur Central Prison advisory committee includes Thrissur DCC president Joseph Tajet, Sundaran Kunnathully and Joseph Chalissery.The Kannur Central Prison committee comprises Kannur DCC president Martin George, Sajeev Maroli, and Jayakrishnan.
