Culture KBS Symphony Orchestra to Hold 10th Yeosu Music Festival Next Month Written: 2026-07-07 19:09:55 / Updated: 2026-07-07 19:11:23 Share Print Photo : KBS Symphony Orchestra The KBS Symphony Orchestra will hold a concert in the coastal city of Yeosu, South Jeolla Province, next month. The orchestra announced on Tuesday that it will host the tenth Yeosu Music Festival at the GS Caltex Yeulmaru Art Center and other parts of Yeosu from August 29 to September 5. This year’s event will see the participation of the orchestra’s music director, the renowned South Korean conductor Chung Myung-whun, as well as pianist Sunwoo Yekwon and male crossover vocal group La Poem.

The opening concert, on August 29, will feature Chung and pianist Kim Sae-hyun performing Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Op. 18, and excerpts from Prokofiev’s “Romeo and Juliet” suite.

In the final concert, on September 5, pianist Sunwoo and the orchestra will present Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in B-flat minor, Op. 23, followed by a performance of Brahms’ Symphony No.

2 in D Major, Op. 73, by students in a classical talent development program operated jointly by Yeosu city and the KBS Symphony Orchestra.
