Vance added that he never begins discussions with Trump about his future political plans. “I never bring it up. But sure, the president brings it up a lot, sometimes publicly, sometimes privately.

You know, the president’s a political animal. He loves this stuff. He’s very fascinated by it.”

When asked if Trump has asked Vance to go after the Republican nomination explicitly, Vance said the president is “not positive or negative”. “It’s just … he kind of talks about it, like, ‘what’s gonna happen,’ you know?

‘How do we make sure that we’re successful? What does that mean for the future?’ It’s more of a conversation like that.”

The Washington Post previously reported that Vance may have delayed his decision on whether to run in 2028 due to the upcoming birth of his fourth child, who is due in July, according to an unnamed source close to Vance.Vance is seen as a top contender for the GOP nomination. Potential running mates also include Marco Rubio, the US secretary of state and a former presidential candidate.
