Is Evan Mobley a potential trade target for the Boston Celtics?
At least one plugged-in NBA analysts thinks he could be, based on what he's heard from rival teams.
After losing out on Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Miami Heat, the Boston Celtics now find themselves in a situation where they will need to either smooth things over with the focal point of the trade package they floated to the Milwaukee Bucks, star Boston forward Jaylen Brown. If that cannot be done, Celtics President of Basketball Operations and company will need to trade the Georgia native to a new team. And at least one plugged-in analyst had an idea of where Boston might look if that is the outcome the team will need to deal with, based on what he has heard from other front offices around the league that have presumably been in some sort of communication with the Celtics.
In a recent episode of NBC Sports Boston's "Arbella Early Edition," Chris Mannix said, "Teams are looking to see if Jaylen Brown is truly available and what the asking price for him is going to be.""But the Celtics, I believe, are listening to those calls and are thinking up their own trade matches of their own," added the NBC Sports analyst."I spent some time this afternoon talking to different teams about what might the Celtics be interested in," said Mannix.
"And the name in the team that came back to me a lot was Evan Mobley in the Cleveland Cavaliers.""Evan Mobley, young, big, just entering the prime of his career, former defensive player of the year, starting a new max contract of his own. Mobley is one of those guys that could fit the archetype of the type of player that the Celtics are looking for."
