Indiana basketball dons special uniforms for USA vs Canada exhibition: Live score timeline, stats

BLOOMINGTON — Welcome to Indiana basketball season in July from Simon Skojdt Assembly Hall. It's Christmas in July, or something like that.Tonight offers the first opportunity to see Darian DeVries' second IU team as the Hoosiers host Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf.

It is a USA vs Canada game on the hardwood as IU is representing the United States (more on that below) in the FISU America Games.While some college basketball teams are headed on foreign tours, the Hoosiers get to wear the stars and stripes in Peru for a trip that begins July 20. As a result, tonight's exhibition is something fans will get to see at Assembly Hall before they head south.

I'll have more of my in-game thoughts below, but one thing to note: SMU transfer Samet Yigitoglu gets to play alongside Alabama transfer Aiden Sherrell tonight. It's the only time this summer the twin towers will get that pairing because Yigitoglu, who will still go on the trip, is Turkish and can't represent the U.S.

Indiana's exhibition on Wednesday night won't be televised or streamed, but the Hoosiers games in Peru for the FISU America Games from July 20 to August 1 — their schedule has yet to be announced — are expected to be available to stream.
