Each container measured about 1.6 metres long, one metre wide and 0.35 metres high, and weighed an estimated three tonnes.
Investigators believed the drug syndicate concealed the cocaine inside the containers and added layers designed to block X‑ray scanning in an attempt to evade detection.Police later pried open the containers and discovered 172 bricks of suspected cocaine, each weighing about 1kg.The three men, Pakistani nationals aged between 28 and 35, were arrested on suspicion of trafficking in dangerous drugs and were being held for questioning.
