× Maya World has been one of the most successful young stars in AEW this year. The 23-year old star made it to the finals of the 2026 Women's Owen Hart Foundation Cup Tournament. She recently opened up about a heartbreaking personal incident as she talked about her elder brother's recent passing.

Ad After her major success on AEW programming over the last few months, Maya World appeared on a local Virginia news channel WDBJ7. During her appearance, she talked about how she actually got into wrestling as a child because of her brother. "Honestly, like how everybody does, I was younger and my brother would play the games and I would be the annoying little sister like taking his controller and trying to play and we would be rewatching it when we shouldn't have been, whatever wrestling was on TV.

She defeated Skye Blue in the Quarter-finals match at Dynamite: Summer Blockbuster and even defeated her mentor Athena in the semi-finals of the tournament. However, she lost to Mercedes Mone in the finals of the tournament at Forbidden Door.The future seems bright for Maya World in AEW.
