Grizzlies' Karim Lopez, Walter Clayton Jr. to miss SLC Summer League games
The Memphis Grizzlies will be without Karim Lopez and Walter Clayton Jr. at the start of summer league action.
The loaded Memphis Grizzlies summer league roster won't have all of its pieces in Salt Lake City.Grizzlies rookie first-round pick Karim Lopez (mild left hamstring strain during his predraft process) and Walter Clayton Jr. (mild right knee sprain) are both out for all three Salt Lake City Summer League games, a team spokesperson told The Commercial Appeal.
They'll be reevaluated before the Grizzlies begin Las Vegas Summer League action on July 10. Clayton was acquired by the Grizzlies on Feb. 3 ahead of the trade deadline from the Utah Jazz.
He got off to a slow start in Memphis but summer league could be a chance to earn a prominent role going forward. Lopez was acquired with the No. 21 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.
