A former WWE Universal Champion has dropped a major bombshell where he highlighted how he had to fight with the company for a small request.

The person in question is none other than the Monster Among Men Braun Strowman who was one of the biggest names in the company during the late 2010s. He departed from the promotion last year ending his second-stint with the company.
Ad Braun Strowman made his debut on WWE's main roster back in 2015 as the Wyatt Family's Black Sheep. He was one of the most dominant part of Bray What's stable but got seperated from the group during the 2016 Draft. Over the next few years, Strowman became one of the top singles star on RAW and was involved in a lot of Universal Championship feuds against the likes of Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns.
During this time, Strowman was dubbed as "The Monster Among Men" and his gimmick was a fan favourite. It was also one of the top merch sellers for the company during that time.
While speaking on the 10,000 NOs podcast, the former Universal Champion revealed the origins of his catchphrase. He revealed that he came up with it during an improvised promo with Heath Slater which went like: "Heath, there’s two things that you can do. You can sit on this floor and shut up or you can get in this ring and get these hands like your partner.”

“I had to fight tooth and nail for like 2 weeks to get them to do merch with it. It was the number one piece number one selling piece of merch for a year and a half," he said. Braun Strowman revealed how he got his WWE name During the same interview, the Monster Among Men revealed how he got his WWE name. He stated that he was watching SportsCenter that day and heard the names Ryan Braun and Marcus Strowman and just joined them together. He also revealed how former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon made some changes to the originally pitched name.
Ad "So, I’m sitting in the office of the WWE Performance Center and SportsCenter’s on. And they’re talking about Ryan Braun. And I’m like, ‘Braun, Braun, I’m kind of brawny.’
And then literally they transition right after that and they start talking about Marcus Stroman, the baseball player. So, literally my name came from watching SportsCenter because they were talking about two guys on TV. So, it was Stoman at first, then Vince put the R in it.
