F1 Penalty Points: Drivers' penalty points after the 2026 Austrian GP

× The F1 penalty points system was first put in place to help improve the driving standards in the series. As part of the system, drivers are penalized for the transgressions they commit on the track. These could be anything from causing a collision to dangerous driving, etc.

The number of points for a transgression depends on the severity of the act. Ad These points stay with the driver for a period of 12 months before expiry. If a driver ends up accruing more than 12 F1 penalty points in a 12-month period, they get banned for one race.

As part of the current system, only one driver has ever crossed the 12 F1 penalty points mark. It was Kevin Magnussen last season, and the Danish driver had to sit out the race in Baku. As we move on from the F1 Austrian GP, how do the drivers stack up in terms of penalty points?
