ESPN analyst Greg McElory loves Clemson’s WR room, expects massive year
ESPN analyst Greg McElroy is a big fan of Clemson’s wide receiver room heading into the 2026 season.
Clemsonfootball’s wide receiver room has become one of the safest bets on the roster heading into 2026, and ESPN analyst Greg McElroy believes it deserves to be mentioned among the nation’s elite. In a recent ranking of college football’s top wide receiver groups, McElroy placed Clemson at No. 7 nationally.
The ranking was driven largely by the return of juniors T.J. Moore and Bryant Wesco Jr.
, a tandem he believes has already proven itself and is ready for another big step forward.“T.J.
Moore and Bryant Wesco have been producing at Clemson for a while. Not since Year 2, since Day 1,” McElroy said. “This has been a really good tandem for the last couple years.”
McElroy pointed to the contrasting styles that make the duo difficult to defend. Moore brings size and physicality to the position, while Wesco’s game is built around speed and stretching defenses vertically.“You’ve got Moore, who’s got plenty of speed, but is really bigger, more physical, and Wesco is the guy who’s going to take the top off the defense,” McElroy said.
The analyst also noted that Clemson’s confidence at receiver extends beyond its two stars. With Tyler Brown and Juju Preston returning, the Tigers have experienced options throughout the depth chart and a position group that many view as one of the strongest on the team. While there are still questions surrounding the quarterback position as Christopher Vizzina prepares to take over the offense, McElroy doesn’t see much uncertainty elsewhere in the passing game.
“I’m confident that Christopher Vizzina will be fine, but that’s really the only uncertainty right now,” McElroy said. “Because wide receiver room as it is, if you listen to those who cover the sport very closely, it’s probably the most certain (position) on the entire football team.”For McElroy, the experience Moore and Wesco have already accumulated is what separates Clemson from many other programs around the country.
Both have been productive since arriving on campus and now enter their
