Dolphins sit disgustingly low in 2026 NFL power rankings
The Miami Dolphins lack talent and will face a tough schedule, putting them rightfully low in new 2026 NFL power rankings.
The Miami Dolphins are coming off a 7-10 record this past NFL season. Now they step into a new era with a new general manager, Jon-Eric Sullivan, and head coach, Jeff Hafley. The new staff made an impact right away, signing Malik Willis to a three-year, $67.
5 million contract to be the franchise's next QB1.Shortly after, the Dolphins had a great 2026 NFL draft, filling positions of need and drafting protection for Willis. Some would say this was enough to surpass the New York Jets and Arizona Cardinals in the power rankings, but Yahoo Sports analyst Frank Schwab disagrees.
Schwab recently released his NFL offseason power rankings. In that list, the Dolphins landed last at No. 32, with the New York Jets 31st and the Arizona Cardinals 30th.
Schwab believes the offense is thin."The problem for Willis is that other than running back De'Von Achane, who was singled out by the Dolphins as someone they refused to trade, there's nothing around him," Schwab wrote. "The receiver room is stunningly thin.
The offensive line could be one of the worst in the NFL again. Miami spent a good amount on Willis, but it will be very hard to evaluate him, given the lack of help he'll have."But it's something.
There would be no reason to be excited for this Dolphins season otherwise. This is what the bottom looks like. There's a lot of work to be done."
It's no surprise that the Dolphins are one of the worst-ranked teams heading into the 2026 season and that Willis needs more help. However, it's important to acknowledge the strides the team has made to help the offense. In the draft, the Dolphins took three wide receivers: Caleb Douglas, Chris Bell and Kevin Coleman Jr.
They also added Kadyn Proctor, who's going to help this offensive line immensely as well. These three teams have a high chance of being picks Nos. 1-3 in the 2027 NFL draft, so it'll be interesting to see how it plays out this upcoming season and who performs better.
