An e-commerce delivery boy was allegedly assaulted by a resident of a prominent gated community in Seethammadhara on Sunday (June 28, 2026), triggering protests by the members of the Gig Workers Union demanding an apology.According to the delivery worker, the incident occurred while he was delivering a parcel to a flat on the 22nd floor of one of the apartment towers. He alleged that a resident verbally abused him and physically assaulted him when he attempted to use the service lift to complete the delivery.
The victim claimed that the entire incident was captured on the CCTV cameras installed within the residential complex.Following the assault, fellow delivery personnel and members of the Gig Workers Union gathered outside the gated community and staged a protest, condemning the alleged attack. They also announced that a formal complaint would be lodged with the local police.
Notably, this is the second such incident reported from the same gated community. In March 2025, an e-commerce delivery executive was allegedly humiliated and assaulted by a resident. The incident sparked widespread outrage and led to a police case and the arrest of the accused.
