Pre-monsoon works undertaken by the Corporation, he alleged, were ineffective. The post of deputy collector and chairman of the finance standing committee who is supposed to lead such activities has remained vacant for months.Mr.
Arun further alleged that there was intense infighting within the ruling UDF. “A Deputy Mayor should be appointed, at least on daily wages,” he remarked sarcastically. “The Mayor may face legal action at any time.
Waterlogging and drinking water shortage are rampant in the city,” he said. Mr. Arun also charged that all the developmental achievements of the previous LDF council had been squandered.
