Continuous skill development key to academic excellence: Vikram Visaji

Teachers and academic staff should view professional learning as a continuous process to remain effective in a rapidly evolving educational system, Vikram Visaji, Dean of the School of Humanities and Languages at Central University of Karnataka, has said.He was delivering the inaugural address at a two-day Faculty Development Programme organised for headmasters and principals of educational institutions run by the Shantivardhak Education Society at Bhalki taluk in Bidar district on Friday.Dr.

Visaji said that the society had built a strong legacy by providing quality education to thousands of students over the years. Employees of such institutions should discharge their responsibilities with a strong sense of commitment towards society and the nation, he said.He urged teachers and administrators to remain self-motivated, dedicated, and confident in performing their duties, adding that continuous engagement with their profession would help them acquire greater expertise.

He also stressed the need for lifelong learning and regular skill enhancement to keep pace with changing educational needs.He said the institution could achieve greater milestones if its principals and staff rendered honest, dedicated, and committed service.Ganapati Sinoor, professor at the Central University of Karnataka, said teachers should develop leadership qualities and strengthen their ability to guide students from diverse backgrounds.

He said educational institutions must adapt to changing times, evolving systems, and emerging challenges, and staff should be prepared to respond effectively.Expressing confidence in the growth of the institution, Dr. Sinoor said the Shantivardhak Education Society had the potential to evolve into a university in the future.

Kamala Sisre, programme coordinator; Udaykumar Kalyane, Principal of Bheemanna Khandre Institute of Technology, Bhalki; Gurunath Kudte, Human Resources Manager; and headmasters, principals, teaching and non-teaching staff of institutions were present.
