Connor Zilisch, Shane van Gisbergen set for O'Reilly race at Sonoma
Connor Zilisch and Shane van Gisbergen are set to battle in the NASCAR O'Reilly Series race at Sonoma Raceway in 2026.
A battle of the ages is awaiting the NASCAR world at Sonoma Raceway. On Saturday evening, Shane van Gisbergen and Connor Zilisch are set to battle in the O'Reilly Series race at Sonoma. Both drivers will compete with JR Motorsports on Saturday and join Trackhouse Racing on Sunday.
Zilisch set the O'Reilly Series world on fire in 2025, but his biggest competition came with van Gisbergen on the road courses. The two drivers competed hard and even made contact, resulting in wrecks. It will be a little different now that both are teammates, but the competitive fire will still exist.
Van Gisbegen and Zilisch could end up fighting for the win on Sunday, but a battle on Saturday could be one of the most competitive scenarios. However, it wouldn't be shocking to see a similar outcome on Sunday. Either way, Zilisch and Van Gisbergen are ready to put on a show, and the NASCAR world is prepared for must-see TV.
