That's not the case anymore, though, as we've seen stars like Micah Parsons, A.J. Brown, and Myles Garrett all be traded within the last year.
Teams are much more willing to make all-in moves now, especially when they have a quarterback on a cheap deal. Meanwhile, bad teams would much rather get future assets and save money than spend big on veterans while the team loses. As a result, there will likely be several quality players who want out again during the 2026 season, including one current Indianapolis Colt.
Colts' Jonathan Taylor could be on the move Jonathan Taylor has been one of the best running backs in the league for years now. The Wisconsin product led the league in rushing in 2021, and just had his second-highest rushing total in 2025. However, Taylor been mentioned in trade rumors before, so it wouldn't be surprising to see it happen again.
Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report recently predicted which players could soon request trades, and Taylor made the list. Regarding a possible Taylor trade, Davenport offered the following: Taylor has more than 1,500 career carries on his body, and he'll turn 28 next January—an age at which many running backs begin to decline.Those 1,500-plus carries have taken him to the playoffs only once, and he could decide that if he's going to absorb that kind of punishment, it should at least be for a team with a realistic chance to contend.
As Davenport mentioned, Taylor has handled a ton of carries and isn't getting any younger. The Colts haven't had much postseason success with the star, either, so it would be understandable if he wanted to join a contender. Plus, Taylor is set to be a free agent after the 2026 season.
