Cleveland Browns 2026 Training Camp Previews: Running Backs
Dynamic sophomores Quinshon Judkins and Dylan Sampson headline a Cleveland Browns running back group that figures to be a strength of the offense. How will the rest of the room shake out behind them?
Remaking the running back room was one of the biggest tasks of the 2025 offseason for Cleveland Browns GM Andrew Berry. Hence why he used two draft picks to turn the position over in short order. Second-round pick Quinshon Judkins proved in year one – prior to a season-ending injury – that he has the potential to become the team's new franchise running back.
While fifth-round pick Dylan Sampson showed some flashes as the change-of-pace back behind him. That duo headlines a group that figures to be a strength for the Browns this fall. There really shouldn't be any concerns on that front heading into training camp.

If Burton ends up solidifying that job, it probably means tailbacks and fullbacks will eat up four roster spots. If a tight end like Joe Royer, Jack Stoll or Carsen Ryan can prove versatile enough for the role, though, it would mean just three tailbacks probably make the final 53.
So who will slot in behind Judkins? Sampson is the obvious RB2 and Sanders feels like the front-runner for RB3. That is, unless Marshall, Booth or Harden really flashes during training camp.
