The province of Cebu was placed on heightened alert due to the threat of ashfall from Kanlaon Volcano and the effects of the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) being enhanced by Typhoon Inday (international name: Bavi).

The province of Cebu was placed on heightened alert due to the threat of ashfall from Kanlaon Volcano and the effects of the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) being enhanced by Typhoon Inday (international name: Bavi).Cebu Governor Pamela Baricuatro held a meeting on Friday with department heads at the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) Command Center regarding this, Super Radyo Cebu's Futch Anthony Inso reported on Super Radyo dzBB on Saturday morning.
The provincial government is monitoring the effects of the ashfall from Kanlaon Volcano after it erupted on July 9.Face masks were given to residents.
