Bruins add new forward after breakout season in the Swiss League.The Boston Bruins know full well how important it is to be strong up the middle of the ice and on Sunday morning they added more center depth to their roster with a shrewd international signing.The news was officially announced by Fribourg-Gotteron HC, the reigning Swiss League champions, when they revealed that one of their young players would be leaving the team.

That player, 23 year old center Attilio Biasca, has agreed to a new contract with the Boston Bruins according to the team's official press release on the matter.The team is clearly sad to lose him, something that was reflected in their statement:"We are proud to have been able to support Attilio in his final step before joining the best league in the world," said sporting director Gerd Zenhausern. "It is impossible to replace him like-for-like, but our ambitions remain the same.

We want to continue developing our players and our team."They are of course well aware of the massive opportunity this is for Biasca and so is the player as well. Biasca issued a statement of his own thanking the team and fans for a season he will never forgot, but also very much is looking forward to his time in North America.

I would like to thank the fans and the club," said Biasca. "I had an exceptional season. The memories of winning the Swiss championship will stay with me forever.

I'm also eager to try my luck with Boston. I'm going to do everything I can to meet this huge challenge."Biasca set career highs for both goals (15) and assists (12) during his first and only season with Fribourg-Gotteron HC, eclipsing his previous career high in points of just 15 by almost doubling that total with 27 points this past season.

Of course now only time will tell how well his skills will translate to the North American game.
