Breaking the Core Component Bottleneck for Low-Altitude Aircraft: SHI Qiang All-Domestic Flight Control Platform Addresses the Chip and Sensor Gap

The 2026 International Low-Altitude Economy Expo in Shanghai revealed a critical bottleneck in China low-altitude aircraft industry: core component import dependence remains severe. SHI Qiang, a hardware R&D and supply chain platform company, presented data showing that 90% of navigation chips below 28nm process node are imported, LiDAR domestic content is under 40%, and battery energy density at 250-300 Wh/kg falls well short of the 400-500 Wh/kg requirement for eVTOL aircraft. These technology gaps directly constrain aircraft performance while increasing safety risks in a sector China aims to position as a national emerging pillar industry.

SHI Qiang marketing director Chen Jiahui emphasized the engineering challenges engineers face: aircraft weight budgets are extremely tight, yet must accommodate more computing power, longer battery life, and absolute reliability guarantees. The company focusing on the upstream component level rather than complete aircraft displays, presented four solution sets covering power systems, flight control, perception, and communication. The power system demonstrated single-channel 100A continuous output on a board measuring just 30.

5 by 30.5 millimeters, achieving over 30% improvement in power-to-weight ratio compared to competing solutions, directly addressing the range and payload contradiction. The flight control platform represents the most significant domestic substitution achievement.

SHI Qiang showcased an all-domestic flight control hardware platform with 100% core component localization, natively compatible with mainstream open-source firmware for plug-and-play deployment without secondary development. This eliminates the chip supply chain risk that has constrained domestic drone and eVTOL manufacturers, who previously faced uncertain delivery schedules and geopolitical supply restrictions on imported flight control processors. The platform supports both FPV racing drones and industrial UAV applications, demonstrating broad app
