Recent Bishop McCort Catholic High School graduate Bo Bassett was named MaxPreps Pennsylvania male athlete of the year.Ranked as the nation's No. 1 pound-for-pound wrestler by Flo Wrestling, Bassett completed his high school career without a loss at 170-0.
He also became the youngest freestyle wrestling world champion in history in 2021.Bassett, a Virginia Tech signee, went 44-0 with 35 technical falls as a senior. He earned his third PIAA Class 2A title.
Bassett concluded his career with 111 technical falls and 44 pins. His 170 wins without a loss is a state record. He earned the Junior Dan Hodge Trophy as the top high school wrestler in 2025-26.
