The reigning men’s singles world champion will be representing Canada in lawn bowling for a seventh consecutive time at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.Canada’s Ryan Bester defeated Cecil Alexander of the Falkland Islands in Round 4 of the men’s singles bowls competition today.

Bester edged Alexander 5-4 in the opening set before the match swung in the second. After leading 6-3 heading into the final end, Bester conceded four shots as Alexander rallied for a 7-6 set win to force a tiebreak.Bester responded by winning the tiebreak 3-0 to secure the match.

The victory improves Bester to 2-2 in Section D, where he sits third in the standings. He will face Izzat Shameer Dzulkeple of Malaysia in his final group match on Monday. Only the group winner advances to the semifinals.
