AEW President Tony Khan officially declares 38-year-old star as "Mr Forbidden Door"

, will be battling a former All Elite Wrestling World Champion this coming Sunday. Ad All Elite Wrestling is only a couple of days away from presenting this year's iteration of Forbidden Door, its annual cross-promotional pay-per-view, which the company will be co-organizing with its partner promotions, NJPW, Stardom, and CMLL. Among the many blockbuster matches that have been announced for the event is a singles bout scheduled between Kenny Omega and Zack Sabre Jr.

The Best Bout Machine will be looking to score a huge win over the British technical master in a bid to return to AEW World Championship contention. Ad Trending Sabre Jr. returned to All Elite Wrestling TV earlier this month, defeating Adam Priest on Collision (June 20) and submitting Jack Perry this past Wednesday on AEW Dynamite.

He also got into some physical altercations with The Young Bucks and Omega himself on the show, alongside his TMDK stablemates. In a backstage exclusive afterward, ZSJ pointed out that he has been involved in every edition of Forbidden Door since 2022, and vowed to soon become one of the first New Japan competitors to win All Elite gold. on prior editions of AEW Forbidden Door On the very first edition of Forbidden Door in 2022, Zack Sabre Jr. competed against and lost to Claudio Castagnoli in the latter's debut match for the Tony Khan-led promotion. The following year, he took part in a four-way match challenging for the International Title, unsuccessfully taking on Daniel Garcia, Katsuyori Shibata, and defending champion Orange Cassidy, who retained.

Ad At Forbidden Door 2024, Sabre Jr. locked horns with the "Freshly Squeezed" star yet again, defeating Cassidy in singles action. At last year's PPV, the Frontman of TMDK retained his IWGP World Heavyweight Championship against the legendary Nigel McGuinness.
